While local football fans were hoping they would emerge victorious, or at least draw again, in tonight’s (Mar 26) crunch clash against China in an away match at the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium, alas it was not meant to be.

The Lions eventually lost to China 1 - 4.

As interested as we are in football (heh), what caught our eyes during those two matches was how many hotties there are on the Singapore team.

Here's a look at some of the Lions who make us go 'Roar'.

Surely the seriously good-looking sons of footballing legend Fandi Ahmad and model Wendi Jacobs will be on the list.

The oldest of the trio, Irfan, 26, plays centre-back for both the national team and Thai League 1 club BG Pathum United. He is dating Miss Universe Thailand 2023 and Miss Universe runner-up Anntonia Porsild, and they will be celebrating four years together come June.

Ikhsan, 24, also plays for BG Pathum United but as a forward, while Ilhan, 21, plays for Belgian football club, KMSK Deinze.

Footballing talent runs in this family too.

Ryhan, 24, and Harhys, 23, whose father is Welsh, and mother Malay-Singaporean, are taking the field as teammates for the Lions for the first time. Ryhan plays right-back while Harhys primarily plays midfield.

Both brothers are signed to BG Pathum United, though former Young Lions captain Harhys has been on loan to Chiangrai United.

From the looks of their IGs, both brothers appear to be attached as well.

Ask any local football fan, and they’ll be able to tell you about the 33-year-old defensive midfielder. Hariss is captain of both the national team, and his club Lion City Sailors, and holds the record for being the youngest player to have made his professional debut with the Young Lions. He was 16 then.

He hosts his own podcast Stuck In Podcast on YouTube, on which he discusses topics on sports with special guests, including Lions teammate, Harhys Stewart.

Sadly, it’s been a year since he last posted an episode, but we’re hoping he might return to give us an update on what playing on the World Cup squad is like.
