Adam Idah struggled to articulate his excitement after joining Celtic on loan from Norwich until the end of this season.

The 22-year-old Republic of Ireland forward came through the ranks at the Canaries and has made 115 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals, including seven this season.

Idah will provide competition for main striker Kyogo Furuhashi while Oh Hyeon-gyu is on international duty with South Korea at the Asian Cup.

Speaking to Celtic TV, the Corkman said: "It's such a huge club with such a big history behind it and I can't even put into words what it's like to be at Celtic.

"My family and my friends are all delighted that I'm here and I just can't wait to get started.

"All of us back home support Celtic so it's huge for me and I'm so excited to be here.

"I want to play games, I want to help this team and the aim for me is to win those two trophies and I want to score a lot of goals for this club."

Idah is Brendan Rodgers' second signing of the January transfer window after German winger Nicolas Kuhn left Rapid Vienna to sign a five-and-a-half-year deal.

There were two departures from Celtic Park on deadline day as Mikey Johnston joined West Brom on loan and David Turnbull sealed a permanent transfer to Cardiff.

Turnbull scored 31 goals and provided 23 assists in 125 games for Celtic after joining from Motherwell in 2020 but his contract was set to expire at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old told Cardiff's website: "When I heard of the interest, I was very keen. It's a huge club. I've watched them in past and want to be a part of it now and kick on."
