Aer Lingus has confirmed the cancellation of 76 additional flights next week.

It comes after pilots with the Irish Air Line Pilots' Association (IALPA) began industrial action due to a pay dispute with Aer Lingus.

The pilots are seeking a 24% salary increase in line with inflation after having rejected a Labour Court recommendation of 9.25% last month.

Hundreds of flights have been cancelled by Aer Lingus since industrial action began, impacting tens of thousands of passengers.

Aer Lingus has since offered pilots an increase of 12.25% with the condition of improved productivity, however this has been rejected by the striking pilots, who - although willing to compromise and accept a smaller increase - want to secure the pay bump without any additional promises of extra work.

According to a statement issued by Aer Lingus today (Wednesday July 3), flights will be cancelled on Monday July 8, Tuesday July 9, and Wednesday July 10 inclusive.

According to an Aer Lingus spokesperson, this is "to protect as many services as possible for as many of our customers as possible".
