Sharing the unfortunate blunder on social media, Angela revealed a shell-shocked Carlos with a bloody tissue hanging from his nose.

The pair soldiered on though, with Angela writing: "Had a little bit of a situation today, but all good."

The fun duo have been going hell for leather all week resulting in buckets of sweat and painful collisions.

"Another week with this glorious mad egg," wrote Angela. "Tonight we JIVE. Sweet mother it is intense & relentless but I love it & can’t wait for you to see.

"I’ve never sweated so much in my life… thank you for teaching me about the chicken hand, demonstrating the kicks over & over again & graciously taking an accidental head butt (one a week).

"You are the best. We’re back on tonight 6.20pm x and tonight you can VOTE so if you love it do your thing. Thank you so so much xx."

Headstrong Angela is a breath of fresh air on this year's show and has broken from a Strictly tradition.

While the spray-on glow is a must for most of the BBC dance competition’s celebs  and their pro partners, Angela is refusing to mask her naturally pale skin.

Flame-haired Angela — whose specialist subject on Michael McIntyre game show The Wheel was “redheads” — said: “Fake tan can work for redheads.

"I used to wear it and I know lots of redheads who do wear it who feel really uncomfortable with their pale skin — but I don’t.

“I’ve spent 15 years getting to grips with the fact I have pale skin.

“You don’t need to fake tan to feel confident. I want to show that, for me, feeling sexy comes from being myself, not how orange my legs are.”

When Angela, 39, was announced as part of the 2023 Strictly line-up she posted a snap of her legs to Instagram and asked fans: “To tan or not to tan, that is the question?”

The response was a resounding no, with fellow paler skin celebs — including Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts — chiming in.

Since she stopped self-tanning before TV appearances, Angela has become a role model.

In an exclusive chat with The Sun, the host of BBC’s Your Home Made Perfect said: “I feel really touched when I get a message from somebody who says their daughter is suddenly OK with not wearing fake tan because she saw me on the telly with my white legs out.

“I never felt that when I was young. I never saw anyone super pale on telly and, obviously, there’s different levels of that across so many minorities.

“When I was growing up, the only people I saw on telly were beautiful blonde, tanned women or a brunette version of the same thing. But it was always a very specific, very polished- looking woman and, you know, that’s a very narrow view of beauty and of womanhood and of everything else.

“So I’ve always felt quite defiant about being myself on telly and in an industry that sometimes tries to force people to look a certain way.”

She added of the contestants’ trade- mark bronzed look: “There’s been absolutely no pushback from Strictly on it. If you want to wear tan, you wear it. If you don’t, you don’t.”
