Police investigate alleged incident from Armagh GAA trip to the US
The PSNI have confirmed that they are investigating an incident that allegedly took place during the Armagh senior football team’s recent trip to the USA.
Following their All-Ireland final win over Galway in July, the team, along with family members, coaching staff, and senior figures from the Armagh County Board, holidayed in Miami last month – from November 13th to the 20th.
The Irish Independent have reported that the complaint has come from a member of the group but was not reported to pthe olice in Miami.
The PSNI said:
A report was made to the Police Service of Northern Ireland regarding an incident which is believed to have occurred in the United States in November.
Enquiries are currently being carried out and no further details are available at present.
The Sunday World have provided more details on the trip, which reportedly cost around £3000 per person.
They have said that the ‘near 100-strong party’ stayed at the prestigious five-star Eden Roc Miami Beach resort, where rooms come to around €300 per night.
The trip was partly funded by the GAA, with fundraisers run by clubs throughout the county making up the difference.
