Arnold Schwarzenegger’s latest newsletter has given a member of Arnold’s Pump Club, Adam, a voice to bring out the story of his father’s spirit. The newsletter has been titled ‘Sentenced To Life’. Arnold began by explaining how he has given the platform to Adam.
He wrote, “This village is about more than fitness. It’s a real community of people lifting each other up, and I’m always blown away when I see how you support each other. Today, I want to give my normal platform to Adam. I was lucky enough to meet his dad and know he is so proud of him.”
Adam narrated the undying spirit of his father. “At 65 years old, my dad was given a death sentence.” Adam’s father was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2020. Doctors had given him six months of life, at best. However, Adam’s father was unphased. He ignored all the negativity around him and focused on optimism. He “got busy living.”

Adam’s father went through rigorous treatments including brain surgery, chemo, and radiation. However, he would continue to exercise as much as possible after it. He traveled the world, climbed mountains, swam oceans, and even did acro-yoga.
He turned the six months into three years, however, cancer was getting to him slowly. Adam’s father was losing the ability to use some of his body parts including his dominant left arm.
Adam wrote, “I watched my dad suffer, and I never heard him complain. Not once.”
Adam’s father had an indomitable spirit. He was an embodiment of positivity. However, he succumbed to death on July 21, 2023.
Adam’s father believed in a vision that Arnold Schwarzenegger talks aboutAdam wrote. “Arnold always talks about vision, and my dad also believed in it. And his vision didn’t include death.”
Arnold himself has achieved great success in life through positivity. He did not have the best of childhood. Arnold’s father was a member of the Sturmabteilung (SA), the original paramilitary wing of the Nazi party. Arnold’s brother Meinhard died in a car accident while driving alone and drunk.
At the age of 21, just of legal age at the time, Arnold went to America. To date, he is the most successful bodybuilder of all time, five times Mister Universe and seven times Mister Olympia. He is also the first person whose biceps were trained to over 55cm. pic.twitter.com/ozdeX1MmBE

However, Arnold did not let these negativities affect him and went on to become one of the greatest bodybuilders of his time. He won the Mr. Olympia contest seven times. Later, he joined Hollywood and won hearts there. The Terminator actor even became the Governor of California.
Adam’s father was also a true optimist. Adam wrote, “In facing death, my dad believed the world needed more positivity. If there was anything he learned, it’s that optimism is the way.”
Concluding the newsletter, Adam hoped his father’s story inspires us all. May we also live with the positivity and optimism that Adam’s father showed.
