Gardaí following definite line of enquiry after man (60s) found dead ...

An investigation is under way into the death of a man at the exclusive five-star Ballyfin Demesne hotel in Laois.

Gardaí say they were alerted to an incident at the Ballyfin Demense shortly before 8pm yesterday.

A man in his 60s was found dead and another man aged in his 30s and who was known to the deceased, was arrested.

It is understood the two were guests at the hotel and were travelling together. Gardaí say they are following a definite line of enquiry.

A technical examination of the scene will take place later today. Gardaí say the arrested man can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
