Bambie Thug has released a new single titled Fangtasy ahead of their Irish tour kicking off this weekend.

The Cork product represented Ireland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest and bagged a sixth place finish, the country’s best result in the competition since 2000.

They described the new track as “probably one of the best Halloween songs ever that you can also listen to all year round”.

“I wanted to create something fun and playful that would resonate with fans of all ages in my Coven,” they said.

“We teamed up with an Italian animation studio to bring the vision to life, but the creative direction and storytelling were all conjured up by my sister, Holly.

"The characters' aesthetics were inspired by the incredible fan art I’ve received, especially from a fan named Broonney.

“The video is filled with Easter eggs and inside jokes from my time on tour and stars The Darklings, who have my back against all kinds of vampires, both on and off-screen.

“The animation pulls in references from iconic favourites like The Powerpuff Girls, The Love Witch, Grease, and Sabrina: The Animated Series.”

Fangtasy comes as a follow-up to the release of single Hex So Heavy in August.

Bambie Thug’s Crown The Witch tour starts this weekend with an all-ages show at The Academy in Dublin on Sunday, October 27, followed by sold-out gigs at the Limelight in Belfast on Monday, October 28, another date at the Academy on Halloween night and at the Róisín Dubh in Galway on Saturday, November 2.

The ‘ouija pop’ performer will round out their tour of Ireland with a homecoming concert at Cork City Hall.

They have been announced as a supporting act for Japanese metal band Baby Metal on the group’s European tour next year, with tickets now on sale.

Bambie will perform at 12 dates across Europe, including in Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Brussels.

They will perform Fangtasy on Friday night during an appearance on The Late Late Show on RTÉ One.

They are the first openly non-binary performer to qualify for a Eurovision final, where they were among the acts resistant to Israel’s participation in the competition because of its actions during the war in Gaza.

The Cork native was critical of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and claimed Israeli broadcaster KAN had “incited violence” against them in a breach of Eurovision rules.
