Bambie appeared on the RTE chat show tonight and sang their hit with a major twist.

The 30-year-old sat down at the piano and sang a jazzy style of Doomsday Blue.

The Irish star looked jaw-dropping wearing a champagne ballgown.

When host Patrick Kielty asked what they have up their sleeve for the main event, Bambie said: "We have a bit of a revamp.

"More just to accentuate the beats where we're dancing live and to add some drama."

Some RTE viewers absolutely loved the slower tune, while others were confused as to why they changed it.

Jack said: "Surely they are not sending the song like this. The thing that made the song a Eurovision was the craziness of it. This may not even qualify if it’s going to be sent like this!!!"

Peter tweeted: "Well done @Bambiethug #latelateshow beautiful version of Doomsday Blue."

Niall wrote: "I am OBSESSED with this version of Doomsday Blue."

Mairtin commented: "So the song which won the national song contest sounds absolutely nothing like the song that was just played on the #latelateshow."

Bambie Thug has eyes on Eurovision prize after winning Late Late song contest with Doomsday Blue

Last month, we revealed how Bambie’s Eurovision song was struggling to get spins from Irish radio stations after one senior radio source told us: “Could you hum Doomsday Blue? No! That’s it then. Game over.”

And earlier this month RTE Radio 1 host Louise Duffy admitted she wasn’t playing Doomsday Blue.

She said: “I can appreciate what they (Bambie) are doing and how special that is in it’s own area but I wouldn’t be playing it on my show because I feel it’s too jarring for maybe an older listener.”

However, Bambie insiders denied that the new version was an attempt to land play on Irish radio stations.

The insider said: “The request for the crooner version of Doomsday Blue came from Eurovision’s social media to show their vocal range.”

They stressed that the original version of the song would remain Ireland’s Eurovision entry.
