Dublin actor Barry Keoghan has made his red carpet debut with singer Sabrina Carpenter.
The couple arrived at the iconic event together, but walked the staircase separately before reuniting at the top of the steps to pose for photos together.
Carpenter, 24, wore a blue and black Oscar de la Renta gown, while Keoghan, 31, donned a three-piece velvet Burberry suit in olive green.

Keoghan split from his then-girlfriend Alyson Sandro, with whom he has a son, in July 2023.
Also walking the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was Cork actress and Keoghan’s Saltburn co-star Alison Oliver, who partnered with Irish beauty brand Sculpted by Aimee for her makeup on the night. For her look, Oliver wore a sequinned suit with a loose-fitting blazer and a train backed with repurposed fabric.
Ballincollig native and Glamour editor-in-chief Samantha Barry wowed in a gown by The Atelier embellished with silver detailing, with a form-fitting corset and tulle skirt with floral appliques.

The brand’s creative director is his fellow Northern Irishman designer JW Anderson. He told GQ ahead of the event: “For me, Loewe feels like home, and with Jonathan there, it's a really cool thing. Even at fittings for the Met Gala, hearing his Northern Irish accent among some really exotic people, it makes me feel really proud, to be honest.”
Jonathan Anderson, who is the honorary chair for the gala this year, also walked the red carpet. Wearing sparkling green shoes with his classic black tuxedo, he bore a gold shamrock pin on his shoulder.

Vogue editor-in-chief and Global Chief Content Officer of Condé Nast Anna Wintour wore a striking Loewe black long coat with a red and yellow floral motif. Honorary Irishwoman Ayo Edebiri — who joked she was Irish and starred as Jenny the donkey in Banshees of Inisherin last year — wore a Loewe design with 3D handstitched flowers. Greta Lee wore a sheer white dress by the brand, which also dressed Ariana Grande in an ethereal gown.
Other Irish designers were represented on the red carpet. Lana Del Rey wore a design by Alexander McQueen, which is headed up by Dublin-born designer Seán McGirr. McGirr told Vogue he wanted to evoke Mother Nature with a "sinister" edge in the design.

Zendaya also wore a Philip Treacy design with her black archival Givenchy gown.
This year’s Met Gala theme was The Garden of Time, inspired by the Costume Institute's exhibition Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. The gala was established in 1948 to fundraise for the Institute.
