A Bayern Munich first team star has been offered to FC Barcelona by the player's camp with a view to signing him as a free agent next summer according to SPORT, which cited anonymous sources.

The Catalans were loosely linked to Joshua Kimmich ahead of the 2023/2024 season.

The midfielder was then-Barca head coach Xavi Hernandez's most desired replacement for the legendary Sergio Busquets, who decided to call time on his tenure at Camp Nou and join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami after lifting the La Liga title as captain at the end of the previous term.

As things turned out, Barca's cash-strapped reality - the public discussion of which led to Xavi being dismissed in spring 2024 - meant that the legendary number 6 had to settle for an Oriol Romeu who proved to be out of his depth and has since returned to Girona.

In recent weeks, there have been rumors about Barca possibly snatching Alphonso Davies from both Bayern and the Blaugrana's eternal rival Real Madrid, which The Athletic reported the Canadian has a verbal agreement with to join it in mid-2025.

Both Davies and Kimmich's deals expire on June 30 next year. Yet while Barca could do with figures that can play at left back and right back as these players can respectively, it is also in need of an explosive winger other than Lamine Yamal or Raphinha.

In a similar fashion, Sane may also walk for nothing on the same date that Davies and Kimmich can cut ties with the Bavarians.

Once again, SPORT says that he has been offered to Barca, which looks at him "out of the corner of its eye" amid interest from Premier League giants such as Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

Sane would have to lower his salary demands to join Barca, which often struggles to stay on the right side of Financial Fair Play (FFP) limits and register new players or the fresh deals of exisiting stars.

But one major positive swinging in the ex-Manchester City forward's favor is his strong relationship with Flick from 2020/2021 when they won the Bundesliga together and other major trophies including the Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
