The 12-year-old, who voices Kiara in the film, received negative comments after wearing what some called an 'inappropriate' outfit on the red carpet.

However, Christina Milian has defended the child star, saying people need to 'mind your business,' and stop trying to 'dim that shine.'

For her glamorous and grown-up look, the 12-year-old's face was made up with gold eyeshadow, rosy blush, and a sheer red lip.

Appearing on Sherri Shepherd's show, Sherri, on Tuesday, Christina defended the child, saying: 'first of all, she looks gorgeous. I think the fact that anybody has anything to say about someone else's daughter, any minor, I think just mind your business.'

'She's talented, she toured the world with her mom, like there's nothing you can say. You can't dim that shine,' the Disney star added.

Negative comments regarding the 12-year-old's outfit included: 'Lots of chatter online that Blue Ivy’s dress is inappropriate…which I didn’t get until I read that she is TWELVE YEARS OLD! How about we don’t put a 12 year old in a push up bra,' one user wrote.

Another penned: 'Blue Ivy looks beautiful but honestly I thought "wow she's like 16 already?" No, turns out she's 12. Let a girl dress like she's 12 please.'

For many, it was a shock to see Jay-Z join his family on the red carpet. The rapper has recently become embroiled in the scandal surrounding fellow star Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ hugely public court case.

Last week, a civil case was launched against the father-of-three, accusing him of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old at a party in 2000- a charge he has strenuously denied.

The civil suit was originally filed against Sean Combs but was amended to include Jay as a co-defendant, making him the first celebrity to be linked to the Diddy case.

In a statement to CNN, Jay said the allegations were ‘so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?’
