Follow live coverage as Brighton & Hove Albion face Crystal Palace today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Brighton & Hove Albion FC 1 - 3 Crystal Palace FC

16:06

It's all over on the south coast, as Crystal Palace claim a huge 3-1 victory over Brighton at the Amex to win their first A23 Derby match in seven attempts! Leading 2-0 going into the second half, Palace had to weather an early storm from the hosts as Brighton produced 0.81 xG with Pedro, Mitoma, Dunk, Enciso and Gruda all testing Henderson in the visitors' goal. The Eagles grew back into the game though, producing 2.40 xG in total and seeing a Munoz goal disallowed before Sarr burst through the middle to finish, scoring his second and Palace's third to tighten their grip on the scoreline. Guehi accidentally putting into his own net from a corner saw Brighton pull one back late on to deny Henderson a clean sheet, but that was as good as things got for the hosts, who drop to ninth in the table as rivals Palace move four points clear of the relegation zone, leapfrogging Leicester and Everton into 15th place as they establish a strong buffer to the bottom three!

CHANCE!! A late free-kick from Pedro is swung into the area and headed back across goal by Gruda, but doesn't quite sit up for Ferguson or Mitoma to strike. Brighton hit straight back as Pedro is played into the box, but across dives Chalobah to block his shot is what's likely the hosts' last attacking chance!

15:44

Goal Ismaïla Sarr

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:41

OVER!!! Gruda steps up for the Seagulls having won the free-kick, and his effort takes a slight deflection off the Palace wall before landing on top of the net!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:40

Gruda's ball into the middle takes a nick off Sarr to deflect back into the gloves of Henderson, but the referee says it hit the Palace goalscorer's arm and gives a free-kick Brighton's way.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:39

SAVED!!! Palace launch another fast break as Nketiah drives forward before finding Sarr to his right, and he bursts into the box before drawing a comfortable near-post save from Verbruggen with a shot on the angle!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:36

BALL IN THE NET!!! Estupinan allows a high ball over the top to bounce, but goes down under pressure from Sarr, who beats Verbruggen to tee up Munoz and he taps into the empty net! Palace wheel away to celebrate, but the contact from Sarr on Estupinan is viewed to be a foul and so the scoreline remains 2-0!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:31

Yellow Card Dean Bradley Henderson

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:31

The ball sits up for Chalobah on the edge of the box following a Palace corner, but his hooked effort goalwards ends up nowhere near it, skewing and behind.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:29

Under Oliver Glasner, Palace have scored first and then gone on to concede 2+ goals in seven Premier League games – including four of the six games they’ve scored first in this season. Since his first game in charge on February 24, only Chelsea have done so as often.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:27

CHANCE!!! Palace are almost gifted a third in comical fashion!! Estupinan is pressed hard by Sarr and plays a blind back-pass towards his own goal, but Verbruggen had come short to receive the ball and has to sprint back to prevent a disastrous own-goal!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:23

SAVED!!! Another fantastic stop from Henderson!! Enciso plays a one-two before cutting away from Chalobah's challenge and sending a curling strike goalwards. It's bound for the bottom corner from 20 yards, but Henderson gets across to palm it around the post!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:20

BLOCKED!! Pedro now turns provider for Mitoma as he pulls the ball back from the left, but the Japanese international's shot on the slide is put wide of the far post by Lacroix sticking a leg out!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:19

BLOCKED!! Now playing as a left wing-back, Mitoma drives around the outside of Munoz and cuts back from the byline. It comes to Ayari, who tees up Pedro, but his first-time strike is blocked by Chalobah!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:17

Brighton have only come back to win one Premier League game when 2+ goals down at half-time – losing 26 of 28 such matches – though that was their most recent one, beating Spurs 3-2 in October.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:14

Brighton build well in the final third through Baleba and Enciso before feeing Minteh to the right, and his cutback from the byline is blocked behind for an early second-half corner.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:14

Yellow Card Daniel Muñoz Mejía

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:12

Crystal Palace are winless in their last six league games against Brighton – their longest run without a victory against the Seagulls since a run of 10 between 1979 and 1986 – but as things stand they're on track to make that record obselete!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:11

Palace have flipped our live win probability tracker on its head with that first-half display, and now sit on an 81.3% chance of victory with the hosts down on just 5.1% themselves. Brighton have it all to do in this second half, as Ayari gets us back underway at the Amex.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:07

Substitution Tariq Kwame Nii-Lante Lamptey Julio César Enciso Espínola

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

15:00

Sarr's goal and assist in the first half have made all the difference for Palace, getting the final touch before Chalobah's opener and arriving at speed to head in their second six minutes later. The Senegal winger has produced three shots from five touches in the box for an xG of 0.67 himself, as well as creating one chance from his six final-third passes. Sarr has also won four of his six on-the-ball duels so far, putting in two tackles and winning a free-kick, as his contribution puts the Eagles in control on the south coast.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:58

There's the half-time whistle, and despite these two sides' contrasting positions in the Premier League table, it's Crystal Palace who are in total control at the break with a 2-0 lead over Brighton! The hosts started brightly and produced most of their 0.33 xG in the opening minutes, with Mitoma forcing a save from Henderson and Ayari having two speculative efforts from outside the box. Palace made all the difference in a six-minute spell though, going 1-0 up through Chalobah following a goalmouth corner scramble, and Sarr heading in Mitchell's cross at the far post to double the lead. The visitors produced 1.35 xG in total, seeing further chances for Munoz and Eze going astray, and will be looking to press home their advantage with the second half coming up.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:51

Yellow Card Addji Keaninkin Marc-Israel Guéhi

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:51

WIDE!!! Lamptey pops up on the edge of the box as Van Hecke plays the ball into his feet, but the right-back's left-footed effort skews well off target for Brighton.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:51

Dunk and Sarr do battle again as Chalobah looks to release his winger in behind, but Dunk is able to get the ball back to Verbruggen, who clears.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:49

We'll play four additional minutes to close out a first half which has gone pretty much perfectly for the away side here.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:48

The ball breaks for Eze to canter over halfway and link up with Mateta ahead of him, but the Frenchman's low ball across the face is thumped behind by Estupinan before Palace are penalised for offside.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:48

Yellow Card Lewis Carl Dunk

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:47

WIDE!!! Munoz breaks away down the right edge following a one-two with Sarr, before crossing into the middle where Eze rises to send a headed effort wide of the near post!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:44

Mitoma cuts inside off the left to swing a cross towards the far post, but Rutter can't quite get there in time to make contact and it's behind for a goal-kick.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:42

Five of Trevoh Chalobah's six Premier League goals have been the opener in that particular match, including each of his last five.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:40

Sarr opens Brighton up once again down the right flank, getting to the byline and drilling a low cutback into the six-yard box which deflects back into Verbruggen's gloves.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:40

Sarr has now scored and assisted in two Premier League away games this season – at Aston Villa and Brighton – only Liverpool's Mohamed Salah has done it on more occasions (three) away from home this term.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:36

SAVED!!! Sarr is released down the right and his cross in is palmed away from the goalmouth by Verbruggen, only for Palace to keep the chance alive, with Mitchell teeing up Munoz and his shot also being kept out by the Brighton goalkeeper!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:33

There's a short VAR check to review a possible handball by Mateta as part of that goalmouth scramble, but it's eventually cleared and Chalobah's strike stands!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:30

BLOCKED!!! Palace break forward over halfway through Eze and he feeds Mateta, who cuts inside to shoot from 25 yards and sees his effort blocked behind for a corner!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:30

Assist Ismaïla Sarr

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:28

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:27

Another attempted ball in behind by the Seagulls fails to come off, after Dunk's long pass for Estupinan is deflected and goes out near the corner flag.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:24

Brighton turn possession over high up the pitch and Pedro looks to pick out Mitoma in behind, but his pass on the turn is overhit and rolls behind for a goal-kick.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:23

At 24 years and 76 days old, Lamptey is the second-youngest player to reach 50 starts for Brighton in the Premier League, after Alexis Mac Allister in October 2022 (23 years, 302 days).

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:21

Hughes' scooped ball over the top picks out Mitchell on a run in behind, but the wing-back's cutback into the middle is steered behind for a Palace corner by Lamptey.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:20

CHANCE!!! Guehi and Lerma lose out to Minteh on the edge of their own box and the Gambian has shooting space, but instead looks to play it across to Mitoma, who is seized upon by Chalobah and the chance goes begging!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:18

Rutter picks up a loose ball 25 yards from Palace's goal following a deflection, but can't get away from the press of Lerma and the Colombian blocks his attempted shot from range.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:14

Palace are unbeaten in their last three away Premier League games – last enjoying a longer unbeaten run with five between January and March 2022. The Eagles are also looking for consecutive away wins for the first time since April 2023.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:13

Before Minteh is allowed back onto the pitch, Baleba takes up wing duties for Brighton and sets off on a driving run down the right-hand touchline before eventually being stopped in his tracks by Guehi's challenge.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:11

Minteh stays down following that clash with Henderson, but is soon back to his feet after receiving treatment and play gets back underway at the Amex.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:10

Van Hecke's long punt forward from deep is over the head of Guehi with Minteh looking to run in behind, but Palace keeper Henderson races out of his box and just catches the Brighton winger as they contest the loose ball.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:08

Brighton have won their last two Premier League home games against Palace, last winning more consecutive home league games against the Eagles between 1979 and 1988 (seven straight).

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:07

SAVED!!! A superb overhead flick from Pedro puts Mitoma clean through on goal, and the winger's left-footed half-volley is parried behind by Henderson for a Brighton corner!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:05

Palace win the game's first corner following a full-on sliding challenge from Estupinan, but Chalobah's looping header is an easy one for Verbruggen to collect.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:03

Mateta kicks the game off for Palace, and the A23 Derby is up and running on the south coast!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

14:02

It’s Brighton who are the favourites to win this unconventional derby match in our live win probability tracker, sitting on a 49.0% chance of victory compared to Palace’s 25.9%. The visitors will be hoping they can respond from a 4-1 thumping in their last meeting, as both teams head out onto the Amex Stadium pitch!

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

13:53

Palace’s goals against the champions both came from unexpected sources, going in front early on in both halves through wing-back Daniel Munoz and central defender Maxence Lacroix, the latter scoring his first goal in English football. They name an unchanged side for the first time this season to take on arguably their biggest rivals.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

13:53

Tariq Lamptey’s stunner and Yankuba Minteh’s goal 11 minutes from time looked to have given Brighton a comfortable win at Leicester last time out, only for the hosts to hit them with two late sucker-punches in the dying embers. The pair both start and combine on the right flank for the Seagulls, with Georginio Rutter moving into the number 10 role.

Palace, meanwhile, lie 17th and just one point above the relegation zone having won just two games all season, but their recent form suggests the Eagles are finally on the up after failing to win in their first eight matches of the campaign. Oliver Glasner’s side are unbeaten in four, beating Ipswich 1-0 in their most recent away game before a 2-2 draw with Manchester City last time out.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

The Seagulls sit eighth in the table after 15 matches and have a chance to climb back into the Premier League’s top five with a victory, displacing champions Manchester City in the process.
