Toulon are looking to lure Connacht, Ireland and British and Irish Lion centre Bundee Aki to the Cote d'Azur when his contract expires with the IRFU at the end of this season.

According to reports in Midi Olympique Toulon are looking to replace Leicester Fainga'anuku, who is returning to New Zealand next year, with Aki.

Fainga'anuku plays 13 for the Top 14 side and has won seven All-Black caps has signed a two-year-deal to rejoin Crusaders. He has spent 18 months in France following his move after the 2024 Rugby World Cup making 22 appearances and scoring 10 tries.

34-year-old Aki was amongst 3,600 people who became an Irish Citizen in September at the Convention Centre in Dublin. 

Aki has joined Connacht in 2014 and was part of the team who won the clubs first ever title when they defeated Leinster in the Pro12 final in 2016 at Murrayfield. He has 141 caps for the province and 57 appearances for Ireland. He was a part of the British and Irish Lions in the 2021 tour to South Africa.
