WASHINGTON, DC (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A 48-year-old Canton man will be sentenced in May after entering a guilty plea to federal charges related to the January 6 Capitol riot.

Clay Norris pleaded to ‘assaulting, resisting or impeding officers’.

The feds say he pushed a Capitol police officer’s shield after getting through a barricade.

He was one of the first to reach the top of the Capitol steps that day, though he did not enter the building.

When mace was used against the rioters, they say he disappeared into the crowd.

Norris was arrested and charged back in May.
