Tonight, Real Madrid will have the opportunity to make football history once again, seeking its 15th Champions League title in the final played in Wembley against Borussia Dortmund.
Unlike 2018, when both football and basketball representatives of the Spanish capital’s team managed to find success in the Champions League and EuroLeague, this year this possibility won’t happen after Chus Mateo’s team lost in the EuroLeague final to Panathinaikos.
Talking in the usual pre-game press conference, the experienced football mastermind touched on Real Madrid‘s recent defeat to the Greek side. “I am a Real Madrid fan. For example, I experienced a lot of pain recently while watching basketball”, the Italian head coach said.
However, Real Madrid could find double success domestically. After already winning La Liga in football, the basketball side is leading 2-0 against the eternal rivals of Barcelona in the ACB Finals.
