Patriot League Announces 2024-25 Championship Schedule
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Patriot League championship schedule for the 2024-25 academic year was announced by the League office on Wednesday with dates for the League’s 23 championship sports.
The 2024 Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships kick off the championship schedule on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa.
Information for the Patriot League’s 23 championships can be found by visiting the League’s official website – www.patriotleague.org. Select Patriot League Championships will be streamed via The Patriot League on ESPN+. CBS Sports Network will also provide coverage for several League championships.
FALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Regular-season competition will determine the sites for field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball. The 2024 Patriot League Field Hockey Championship will be hosted by the tournament’s No. 1 seed, beginning with semifinal-round action on Thursday, Nov. 7. The championship game is set for Saturday, Nov. 9.
The women’s soccer quarterfinal round begins on Sunday, Nov. 3, at the home site of the tournament’s No. 3 and No. 4 seeds. The semifinal contests on Thursday, Nov. 7, will be hosted by the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, with the 2024 Patriot League Women’s Soccer Championship Game taking place at the highest-remaining seed on Sunday, Nov. 10. The championship game will be aired live on CBS Sports Network at 12:30 p.m. for the third straight season.
The men’s soccer championship will follow the same format, with the quarterfinal round on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the home site of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds. Semifinal-round action will continue on Tuesday, Nov. 12, with the championship game hosted by the highest-remaining seed on Saturday, Nov. 16.
The six-team Patriot League Volleyball Championship starts on Tuesday, Nov. 19, with quarterfinal-round matches at the home of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds. The top seed will host the semifinal round (Nov. 22) and championship match (Nov. 24).
WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Patriot League winter championship season begins with the four-day men’s and women’s swimming and diving championships beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 19, and concluding on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Bucknell University’s Kinney Natatorium. The 2024-25 Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships will be hosted at the United States Naval Academy’s Wesley A. Brown Field House on Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2.
Home sites for the 2024-25 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will be determined by seeding. The men’s basketball championship first round is Tuesday, March 4, at the home court of the No. 7 and No. 8 seeds. The top four seeds in the tournament earn home games in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 6, before the two highest-remaining seeds host the semifinal-round games on Sunday, March 9. The Patriot League Men’s Basketball Championship Game is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, at the home of the highest-remaining seed.
The first round of the women’s basketball championship is Saturday, March 8, at the home of the No. 7 and No. 8 seeds. The four highest seeds will host a game in the quarterfinal round on Monday, March 10, with the two highest-remaining seeds at home for the semifinal round on Thursday, March 13. The Patriot League Women’s Basketball Championship Game will be played at the home of the highest-remaining seed on Sunday, March 16.
SPRING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Destinations for seven of the Patriot League’s 11 spring championship sports have been determined. Bucknell University will host the men’s tennis championship from Thursday, April 17, through Sunday, April 20. The women’s tennis championship will be played the following weekend (April 24-27) at Colgate University. The 2025 Patriot League Women’s Golf Championship, hosted by Lehigh University, will be played over three days (April 18-20) at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa. The men’s golf championship will be hosted by Bucknell University at Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa. (April 25-27).
The 2025 Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships will occur from May 2-3 at Holy Cross’s Hart Track in Worcester, Mass. The Patriot League Women’s Rowing Championship returns to the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J., on Friday, May 16.
Host sites for the four remaining spring championships will be determined by regular-season competition. The women’s lacrosse championship begins with a pair of quarterfinal-round games on Sunday, April 27, at the home of the third and fourth seeds. The top seed will host the semifinal round (May 1) and championship game (May 3). The men’s lacrosse championship begins at the homes of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, with quarterfinal games on Tuesday, April 29. The No. 1 seed will host the semifinals (May 2) and championship game (May 4).
The top seed will host the 2025 Patriot League Softball Championship beginning on Thursday, May 8. The double-elimination format will conclude on Saturday, May 10. The top two seeds will host the best-of-three-game Patriot League Baseball Championship semifinals from May 10-11. The best-of-three-game championship series will be hosted by the highest-remaining seed beginning at least five days after the final game of the semifinal series.
