Channing Tatum is proud Irish dancing dad at daughter's feis
Channing Tatum has surprised his Irish fans as he revealed he is a 'feis dad' after his daughter won trophies at her Irish dancing competition.
His 11-year-old daughter, Everly Tatum, whom he shares with his ex-wife Jenna Dewan, took part in the St Ambrose Fall Feis in Los Angeles this weekend and proved she is a talented Irish dancer.
The Step Up actor, 44, was there to watch his daughter take home two trophies at the feis and he couldn't contain his pride, sharing several pictures of the event on social media.
Channing, who is of Irish ancestry, posed holding two of his daughter's large Irish dance trophies, along with her sash, and wearing a supporter's t-shirt that read: 'Evies pit crew'.
He posed next to his daughter Everly, who was all dressed up for the competition, wearing a traditional green and gold Irish dancing dress and wig.
Meanwhile, Everly beamed as she held a glass trophy standing on top of the dance podium.
Channing shared his excitement at Everly's win, as he wrote: 'There is absolutely no words for how proud i am of this lil girl!!! Im freaking out maaaaannn!!!!'
But his Irish fans couldn't get over that the actor was a 'feis dad' and had an interest in Irish dancing with two people joking that he could be called 'Channing Tayto' and 'Magic Micheál' instead.
One person wrote: 'Her being an Irish dancer is [love-heart hands emoji]', while another commented: 'Feis dad of the year.'
However, it may not come as a huge surprise to some fans as Channing previously revealed watching Irish dancing while in Dublin had inspired some of his moves in the film Magic Mike.
He spoke to the Irish Independent in 2015, saying: 'It's a couple of cool moves that I saw these dancers do at this traditional Irish dancing show in some pub in Dublin that I was like, "Man, these guys, they got something. They are so tight and on point," so I definitely snuck a few shapes, a few moves in. I stole a few.'
But that isn't where Everly picked up her love for Irish dance, as her mum Jenna previously revealed her daughter has 'always been obsessed with Ireland' and became inspired to dance after she watched the film Riverdance.
Jenna told Access Hollywood: 'We watched a movie called Riverdance and she said, "Mom, please find me a dance class". So we found a dance class and it just took off, she loves it.'
Congratulations Everly!
