The second Brat summer: Charli xcx announces Irish gigs for June ...
The current undisputed champion of pop music, Charli Aitchison, aka Charli xcx, is set for a pair of Irish gigs next year.
Dominating the worlds of music, fashion, graphic design, popular culture and even political discussion in 2024, the hyper-pop hitmaker is riding the crest of a wave, following the critical and commercial successes of sixth long-player brat and its various extended editions.
Having this week performed a short set to a traffic-stopping audience of thousands at New York's Times Square, Charli xcx has announced European dates for next summer, including two engagements on the island of Ireland.
On Wednesday morning, Irish promoters MCD announced a pair of outdoor gigs, with Tuesday, June 17 seeing Charli and live collaborators head for Malahide Castle, Dublin; and Wednesday June 18 seeing her play Belfast city centre for the Belsonic series of gigs.
Both gigs will see support from English indie-popper Amber Mary Bain, aka The Japanese House, who recently appeared on the brat remix album with her bittersweet re-arrangement of generational-trauma bop Apple.
MCD's pre-sale tickets for the events go live at midday on Thursday November 21; with general sales via Ticketmaster opening at noon on Friday, November 22,
