Eubank keeps calm head

Chris Eubank Jr insists Liam Smith has not got in his head as he prepares to try and avenge his defeat to the Liverpudlian earlier this year.

He said: Liam was trying to get under my skin. Talking about which shots he wants to hit me with , what shots I want to get hit with, which shot was a fluke when I got stopped and what he’s going to do to me.

"He’s trying to get in my head but he doesn’t understand how thick this skin is over my bones.  It’s been through too much.

"You can’t talk yourself into changing what’s going to happen or changing my mind, mindset or my mentality. You’re not going to get me angry.

"It doesn’t bother me. I’m not bothered about Liam Smith, I’m worried about Chris Eubank Jr."

What's been said?

Liam Smith taunted Chris Eubank Jr when discussing his win in the first fight.

He told Sky Sports Boxing: "I'll be honest with you, I've had harder spars with amateurs than what that fight was for me.

"The fight never got going. I'm not saying Chris was that bad but the fight the way it panned out was a bit of a chess match.

"And then then first time I got close I landed a combination and he went over. I never got going, I never had a mark on me, I went to football the next day."

Azim beats Fanyan by unanimous decision

Adam Azim moves to 9-0 as a professional with a wide decision victory over Ukrainian Aram Fanyan.

The judges scores: 98-92, 100-90, 99-91.

Azim vs Fanyan

Adam Azim goes the distance for a second successive fight and comes through a couple of tricky rounds early on in the contest.

Aram Fanyan gave it a good go and may be rewarded with a couple of rounds on the judges scorecards.

But this will be Azim ninth consecutive professional win.

Shalom favours Smith

Promoter Ben Shalom has revealed he is leaning towards Liam Smith in the main event.

He said:  "I still believe Liam is the slight favourite in this fight. And if he's on form, he's 100%, he's had the preparation, he should win the fight.

"But it's one of those that could go either way. I think we will see the fight we thought we would see.

"One that goes the distance, an absolute shootout."

Azim vs Fanyan

Fanyan is definitely easier to hit now - a bit more flat-footed as Azim pings him with the jab.

A quiet opening minute to the ninth round as Azim keeps it long, waiting for the opportunity to strike.

The lower tempo continues for the remainder of the three minutes but Azim clearly won it.

Some good body work from the Brit.

Azim vs Fanyan

Azim lands with a big right hand as he backs Fanyan up against the ropes.

There's a barrage of punches from the Brit as he momentarily staggers Fanyan.

Azim going through the gears now as the crowd roar him on for that stoppage.

It doesn't come in the eighth but Azim is well on top now. He is stalking is prey and has six minutes to prevent his man from hearing the final bell.

Azim vs Fanyan

Some of these rounds are close and Fanyan isn't fading as we head into the eighth.

Azim may be in front but this has certainly been his toughest test to date.

In his last fight, he won all 10 rounds on his way to a unanimous decision victory.

He has not won every round tonight.

Azim vs Fanyan

Azim's trainier Shame McGuigan knows. He tells his man Fanyan is "throwing the left hook from way out".

That's the only shot causing Azim any problems and it is one that comes from a long way back.

But despite Fanyan's moments of success, he has not won more a single round in my book.

Into the seventh we go.

Through five rounds in the final undercard fight of the night.

Azim is trying to walk his opponent down as Fanyan circles the edge of the ring.

Brook backs Smith to beat Eubank Jr

Former welterweight world champion Kell Brook is ringside for tonight's blockbuster clash.

He has told Sky Sports he believes Smith will win again by late stoppage or points.

Brook also claims the winner of tonight's main event could be a "potential opponent" for him if he is to come out of retirement.

Azim vs Fanyan

Adam Azim may be one of Britain's most exciting prospects, but he's not having it all his own way here.

A lovely shot to the body is followed up by a left hook to the head from Fanyan at the end of the third.

Azim is landing his jab pretty regularly, but he needs to be wary of what's coming back.

Getting handsy

Chris Eubank Jr's coach Brian 'BoMac' McIntyre is in Liam Smith's dressing room watching him get his hands wrapped.

It's customary for a member of the opposing team to watch a boxer have their tools wrapped.

All smiles

Liam Smith heads into the AO Arena beaming.

Can he repeat the result that shocked the boxing world tonight?

Adam Azim is up next but the main event will follow that.

Earful

So it was a perforated ear drum that caused Allen's retirement from the bout.

Clarke apologises for any illegal low blows thrown in the fight but he maintained they were unintentional.

Can't imagine anyone will be demanding a rematch after that.

Clarke vs Allen

Hearing the reason Allen has been pulled out is due to jaw damage.

Clarke did land some telling uppercuts but Allen could have been one more low blow from a DQ win.

The crowd boos Clarke as he is read out as the winner.

Clarke vs Allen

And just like that the fight is over!

Allen's trainer Jamie Moore has instructed the referee to end the bout - presumably due to the low blows.

This could be controversial.

Clarke vs Allen

Round 6 - One more low blow and Clarke faces being disqualified.

He ends the round just about in the fight but he should probably look to go head hunting.

A rather dull fight up until low-blow gate.

Clarke vs Allen

Round 6 - Clarke is docked a point for yet another low blow!

Clarke is given a SECOND point off. Remarkable, he is now two points down on all scorecards.

What looked to be a borderline body shot lands, Allen complains and two start arguing.

Clarke vs Allen

Round 5 - Allen just misses Clarke's whiskers with a speculative overhand right.

Allen walks into a lovely uppercut from Clark who landed it perfectly.

Sadly, the round was mainly consumed of holding, rabbit punches and complaining. Clarke warned at the end for another low blow.

Clarke vs Allen

Round 4 - Clarke has Allen in trouble heading back as he lets his hands go - Allen complains for another low blow.

Clarke is looking for the uppercut as Allen walks forward.

At times that round got scrappy and this could be shaping up as an untidy bout.

Clarke vs Allen

Round 3 - Big counter uppercut rocks Allen's head back as the two clinch on the ropes.

Allen is quite literally walking into trouble but he does land a counter left hook - his best shot of the fight.

Clarke lands a low shot - something Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk are all too familiar with - to close out the round.

Clarke vs Allen

Round 2 - Clarke rips Allen's body with a range of shots.

He then lands a brilliant combo, delivering in a hard right hand.

Allen threatens a few times over the top but he looks far too gunshy.

Clarke vs Allen

Round 1 - Very confident start from Clarke who is peppering Allen with jabs.

Allen looks reluctant to commit and takes a couple right hands while stood stationary.

Clarke ends the round with a left body shot and was all over Allen there.
