Speaking ahead of her appearance on the show, CMAT – real name Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson – revealed on X (formerly Twitter): "Just want to let you all know that Miriam Margoyles called me a silly bitch when we were getting our makeup done together (amongst a list of other terrible, terrible things). It is the best day of my life."

While the Irish musician is clearly a fan of the Harry Potter star's irreverant humour and cheeky personality, it has got the British actress, 82, into hot water on more than one occasion.

Margolyes notoriously cursed live on air during a chat on BBC Radio 4's Today last year, while describing her feelings about Tory politician and current British chancellor Jeremy Hunt.

Speaking about the former Health Secretary. who had appeared just ahead of her, she said: "I just saw him there and I said, 'You've got one hell of a job, the best of luck.' And what I really want to say [was]: 'Fuck you, you bastard!' you know. But you can't say that."

Recalling the controversial moment on tonight's show, recorded on Thursday evening, the award-winning actress says: "I would never swear on Radio 4 because to me it is a temple. I truly didn’t know what I had done. I was shocked and appalled at my own rudeness. It was upsetting."

Tonight's show will also see Succession actress Snook discuss her new West End play, The Picture of Dorian Gray, where she takes on 26 different characters.

Talking about the production, based on the 1890 novel by Irish author Oscar Wilde, the Golden Globe winner says: "It is still such a modern idea because from the Victorian era to now is like a bookend of narcissism, the idea of self, and individualism which is just getting to this crazy chaotic moment now with Instagram and all the other ways in which we worship youth."

The Graham Norton Show airs on BBC One on Friday, November 3 at 10.40pm.
