Food safety officials have sounded the alarm after hundreds of canned coffee products were recalled over fears of toxic contamination.

Over 250 coffee products from Snapchill LLC are being voluntarily recalled by the company after the FDA raised concerns over cross-contamination with the deadly botulinum toxin, which can lead to botulism.

The federal agency reportedly flagged issues with the company's low-acid canning method, which poses a risk of allowing the toxin to grow and spread to potentially lethal levels.

There are no current reports of users becoming sick from botulism, which is a type of food poisoning that can cause a number of health emergencies including breathing problems, weakness, dizziness and speaking issues.

Food safety officials have sounded the alarm after hundreds of canned coffee products manufactured by Snapchill LLC were recalled over fears of toxic contamination

Snapchill LLC, which makes a variety of canned coffee products, voluntarily recalled over 250 products over fears of botulinum contamination

The FDA reportedly cautioned the coffee company after finding that it violated regulations by failing to notify the agency it was using the low acid method.

While the recall was voluntary, the potential cross contamination of the food toxin could be deadly.

Health officials warn that symptoms can appear in under six hours, but may not show up for up to two weeks, with victims requiring urgent medical attention if it is contracted.

The coffee company produces a range of canned cold brews sold throughout the country, under various brand names.

As per the recall, users are warned to check the packaging of coffee products, as Snapchill may not be clearly found.

Instead, the name would appear under the nutrition facts portion of the packaging, and will read 'produced and distributed by Snapchill LLC.'

Customers are offered the chance to receive a refund from the company, so long as they have proof of purchase and a picture of the coffee can they bought.

DailyMail.com has contacted Snapchill LLC for comment.

The company insisted that it has received no indication that anyone has gotten sick from the products, but is issuing the recall out of an abundance of caution

In a statement to Health, the company insisted that it has received no indication that anyone has gotten sick from the products, but is issuing the recall out of an abundance of caution.

'No illnesses have been reported, and Snapchill is not aware of any instances in which the company’s products contained this pathogen,' the statement read.

'Nevertheless, Snapchill is voluntarily conducting this recall in cooperation with the FDA.

'At Snapchill, the safety and satisfaction of our customers are our highest priorities, and we are working swiftly to resolve the issue. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or concern this recall may cause.'
