22 Jun 2024

PATRICK COLLINS: After an erratic start to the summer, Collins' puck-outs and shot-stopping were much improved in the last three matches. 7.

NIALL O'LEARY: Unsung hero of the Cork defence. Did all the simple things well as he always does. 7.

EOIN DOWNEY: In a match that was very flat initially, the Glen man was in snarling form, getting the upper hand on Danny Sutcliffe and grabbing key ball in the air after. 8.

SEAN O'DONOGHUE: Great tussle with Seán Currie, who was eventually moved out to the wing. 7.

TIM O'MAHONY: Brought needed height and power to the half-back line again.

Shone in the last quarter when others were struggling. 7.

CIARÁN JOYCE: Back in the number six berth with Rob Downey out and was twice fouled driving out with possession. 8.

MARK COLEMAN: Solid throughout and had some good spells though he should have knocked over a point. 7.

DARRAGH FITZGIBBON: Started well and had two lovely early points from play. Quiet in the second half before coming off. 7.

LUKE MEADE: Late replacement for Downey. Buzzed around midfield with purpose as always and scored a point. 6.

DECLAN DALTON: Well up for it, on the back of a big shift against Offaly. By half-time, he'd 0-2 and converted two monster frees. Scored twice in the second half and unlucky to see a rasping drive for goal pushed away. 8.

SHANE BARRETT: His pace and touch caused Dublin problems, scoring 0-2 in the first half and setting up two points and a goal chance. One of the better forwards in the second half too. 7.

SEAMUS HARNEDY: Tipped along in the opening period, arrowing a pair of fine points. Withdrawn after 48 minutes. 6.

BRIAN HAYES: Finished the first half impressively, splitting the posts and getting fouled for a free. Like many of the Rebels, faded in the second half. 6.

ALAN CONNOLLY: Starved of possession up in Tullamore and the same here. Eventually got a sniff of goal and was fouled for two frees. 6.

PATRICK HORGAN: Razor sharp from the off, though he should probably have nabbed an early goal. Clipped over 0-3 from play, plus two assists and the usual quota of frees. 8.

SUBS

SHANE KINGSTON: Only had the sliotar in his hands a few times in the fourth quarter. 6.

TOMMY O'CONNELL: Brought on for Meade. 6.

GER MILLERICK: Not as efficient as he normally is with his distribution. 6.

ROBBIE O'FLYNN: Two sweet scores in the last 10 minutes. 7.

CONOR LEHANE: On late.
