Coronation Street set to kill off character loved by many
***SPOILER***
The name Battersby is well-known among Coronation Street fans but writers have decided to kill off one of its family members, one who made us laugh and cringe over the years.
Les Battersby, played by the actor Bruce Jones arrived on the cobbles back in 1997 with his family and for others on the street were a little 'rough around the edges.'
Audiences loved the outspoken character that was Les, one who would terrorize poor Curly Watts and had an obsession with the band Status Quo who appeared on the street in a cameo back in 2005
According to The Daily Mail, a source said 'It's a huge snub to kill off a popular character like this....Bruce created one of the Street's most iconic characters in Les and always hoped one day he might return.'
On hearing the news it is believed that 'A lot of the cast and crew have said it's a bit mean' and believe it to be 'A huge snub to kill off a popular character like this.'
Les has not been featured on Coronation Street since 2007 and throughout his time on the soap, he often got himself into trouble.
In the past, he was suspended for allegedly getting drunk in a restaurant and insulting fans as well as giving away some of the plot lines.
Now if you don't want to know how it is going to happen then stop reading as we are about to reveal it.
It is believed that Les' daughter Leanne, played by Jane Danson will receive a phone call to say that her dad has died and will tell her sister Toyah.
