Ireland scrumhalf Craig Casey escaped serious injury after being taken off on a stretcher in the fourth quarter of Saturday's opening Test against South Africa at Loftus Versfeld.
Munster's Casey, enjoying his first start for Ireland while replacing the injured Jamison Gibson-Park in the run-on XV, triggered concern when he didn't get up from a monster hit by club teammate RG Snyman.
Snyman had caught Casey - who had had a decent outing in a difficult fixture Ireland went on to lose 27-20, the first time they'd lost to a Rassie Erasmus-coached Bok side - behind a ruck and followed through with his tackle, with the halfback slamming the back of his head hard on the turf before lying prone for referee Luke Pearce to immediately stop the game in the 63rd minute.
