However, the Portuguese superstar's efforts have not been enough to earn him a spot in the Saudi Pro League's Team of the Season.

Since joining Al Nassr, a move that followed his dramatic exit from Manchester United, Ronaldo has scored 14 goals in 19 games across all competitions.

He also provided two assists, meaning he was close to averaging one goal contribution for every game he played for the Saudi Pro League runners-up.

Ronaldo's start to life in a new country was by no means easy as it took him three games to find the back of the net.

But, he soon found his shooting boots and was even on hand to score two hat-tricks.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner also finished as the Saudi Pro League's fifth top scorer for the season with his 14 goals.

However, upon their decision to name the league's Team of the Season, sport statistic gurus OPTA chose not to include Ronaldo.

Instead, former Manchester United and now Al Hilal striker Odion Ighalo leads the attack thanks to his 19 goals in 27 games.

Even though he didn't score a single Premier League goal during his loan spell at United, Ighalo knows where the net is in Saudi Arabia.

On his left and right flanks, respectively, were Al Fateh duo Firas Al Buraikan and Mourad Batna.

Two of Ronaldo's Al Nassr teammates made the cut as Luiz Gustavo was named in midfield and Ghislain Konan selected at left-back.

Five of the 11 players all game from league champions Al Ittihad - Romarinho, Ahmed Sharahili, Ahmed Hegazy, Madallah Al Olayan and Marcelo Grohe.

Al Taawoun's Kaku is the final name in the XI, a team that is missing one of the football's legends.

Further world-class quality is set to join Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia this summer though.

His former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema has signed for Al Ittihad, with N'Golo Kante also set to join the champions from Chelsea.
