Carlow’s Cynthia Ní Mhurchú (FF) has been elected to the European Parliament.
Upon the redistribution of Grace O’Sullivan’s votes, Ní Mhurchú confirmed her lead over Mick Wallace (IND), who therefore has now lost his seat in the European Parliament.
Carlow/Kilkenny TD Kathleen Funchion (SF) and Michael McNamara (IND) were also elected as MEPs In the Ireland South constituency in the last few minutes, joining Ní Mhurchú in filling that last three seats.
