Daryl Gurney shared an embrace with Ricky Evans after overcoming the rapid thrower in round three at Ally Pally.
Gurney was made to work hard by Evans as he reached the last-16 for the third time in his career. The Northern Irishman eventually triumphed 4-2 to end the Englishman's resistance and book his place in the next round.
He wrapped things up in the sixth set, pinning D18 to take out 84 after Evans had missed the bull for a spectacular 124 out. Gurney shot off down the stage after securing victory, having taken his time to throw the winning double after the Ally Pally crowd did their best to try and put him off.

He eventually made his way back to Evans, who embraced him with a hug. Gurney then went one better, though, taking the 33-year-old thrower by the cheeks and planting a smacker on him before they left the stage.
Darts fans loved the exchange, with one writing on X: "What if we kissed on the pdc world darts championship stage." Someone else said: "Ricky Evans literally puckered up for it and everything. Just a couple of homies kissing."

A third person added: "Imagine the Premier League tweeting something like this. Darts is unrivalled." While a fourth said: "Everyone slating them, two of the most entertaining people in the sport. Gimps."
Gurney will now face Dave Chisnall in the next round after Chizzy overcame Gabriel Clemens in his third round tie. Both players will fancy their chances of having a deep run at the tournament as more seeds went flying on day 11 at Ally Pally.
Ryan Searle and Ross Smith both exited the competition on a titanic afternoon of tungsten which saw Stephen Bunting, Joe Cullen and Chris Dobey all make it through. Gerwyn Price was the big name to depart in the evening as he lost to Brendan Dolan in one of the big shocks of the tournament so far.
