The Donegal International Rally has seen what is perhaps one of their first major shocks of the day with the current leader Keith Cronin bowing out of the rally after he and co-driver Mikie Galvin slid off the road on Mamore Gap.

In their Ford Fiesta, it is understood that Cronin slid off the road and got stuck resulting in what is the first of the big casualties of the day.

Cronin and Galvin are said to be okay, but it now results in Matt Edwards and co-driver David Moynihan taking the lead once again with an 8.1-second advantage.

After Stage 5 in Inishowen, it also sees Callum Devine having his fastest time yet in his Skoda. The defending champion alongside Noel O’Sullivan has hit a time of 6.33.06 in Mamore Gap, while the leader Matt Edwards nailed a time of 6.40.02 as the gap closes tighter.
