All eyes are on Chester today as the most eligible bachelor in the land finally tied the knot with the beautiful Olivia Henson. At the city’s historic cathedral, the happy couple conjured a stellar cast of high society doyennes, from Van Cutsems through to Straubenzees, to fill the pews as they said, ‘I do’.

It was Emma Victoria Payne whom Henson called upon to create her breathtaking lace-trimmed gown. These motifs riffed on the same swirling patterns her great-great-grandmother had placed on her wedding veil back in 1880. But there were many more stately ensembles inside the church worn by the esteemed guests who joined them to revel in their holy matrimony.

Of course, the mother of the groom, Natalia Grosvenor, Dowager Duchess of Westminster was prepared for the romance. She opted for a hot-pink coat-dress which she paired with a pink and red feathered headpiece, red slingbacks and an Olympia Le Tan clutch which read, ‘C’est quoi l’amour?’. Beside her, daughters Lady Edwina Snow and Lady Viola Grosvenor similarly donned rousing shades of red and pink. Lady Edwina chose a cherry blossom-hued design befit with bow-adorned trumpet sleeves, while Lady Tamara wowed the crowds in a scarlet red puff-sleeved piece. On the other side of the church, mother-of-the-bride Caroline Henson oozed elegance in a delicately striped sky blue belted wrap dress.

Florals were the order of the day for many delectably-dressed attendees. Rosie Van Cutsem, one half of luxury rural-wear label Troy London, injected a sunny disposition in her canary yellow number which she paired with a statement black headpiece, and Daisy Jenks looked the picture of chintzy perfection in a ruffled rose-adorned gown.

On the royal front, both Prince William and Princess Eugenie were among the crowds of well-wishers. Eugenie opted for a sleek fern green gown with pleated skirt, co-ordinating deliciously with Lady Vestey, dressed in a mint checked twin set, of whom she arrived with.
