The Northern Irish TV presenter, 64, usually fronts Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel with co-host Isabel Webster every Monday to Thursday. However, Eamonn decided to book a romantic trip on a Mediterranean cruise with his new girlfriend Katie Alexander, 42, and whisked her off over the weekend.

Eamonn first met Katie in 2015 when her comment on a social media post generated a conversation between the pair. After Eamonn's shock split from Ruth Langsford earlier this year, he grew closer with Katie as she supported him through the difficulties of the marriage breakdown.

Now, Eamonn and Katie are enjoying a late summer break. His GB News co-host presented Monday's edition of the news programme with guest co-host Dawn Neesom. Eamonn has not revealed how long he will be away from his post but was away for a week on his last holiday.

Meanwhile, a source recently claimed Eamonn's latest holiday is proof "of his and Katie's closeness". The source told The Sun: "The cruise is just the latest proof of their closeness. Katie has been telling pals that she and Eamonn are going to be for keeps, and now everyone is starting to believe her."

The source added: "Eamonn’s zest for her — the latest being this all-expenses-paid trip — has wowed Ruth and pals. He has found a new lease of life for sure. Everyone is amazed."

Just last month, Eamonn was forced to reassure fans when they became concerned about his absence from his show. Regular viewers of the morning programme are used to seeing Eamonn and Isabel Webster during the week. However, on August 19, Nana Akua filled in for Eamonn while he took a well-earned break.

Eamonn's absence led to speculation about his replacement, which he quickly quashed. Eamonn took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to clear up any confusion among his followers. He playfully dismissed the public's concern, joking that people were "unfamiliar with the concept of Summer Holidays."

He added: "See u next week!" His light-hearted response reassured his Twitter followers that he would return on air soon. A fan rushed to the comment section to joke: "What you are allowed a holiday? Noticed Isabelle was missing a while back too how is that allowed?" Another also said: "Strange when Isabella had her holidays they weren’t worried. Enjoy your holiday!"
