EastEnders legend Michelle Collins heaps praise on Lola's final ...
EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders star Michelle Collins has praised Lola Pearce's (Danielle Harold) final scenes in the soap following her cancer diagnosis.
Lola was diagnosed with a brain tumour in scenes aired last year and was later left reeling after receiving the news that her illness was terminal. She endeavoured to make every moment she had left count, but deteriorated quickly as specialists at the hospital confirmed that all treatment options had been exhausted, and she'd die within a matter of weeks.
Heartbreaking scenes during last night's episode saw the young mother pass away in a grimly realistic fashion, as she died when her husband Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) wasn't in her hospital room, and Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), the father of her daughter Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown), didn't make it to the hospital in time.

Taking to her Twitter account after watching the episode, she said she was sure there was "not a dry eye tonight".

She shared: "I didn't want to read my final script. We pick them up from the script desk if we are in work and my final ones were sat there for ages.
"I got to the second page and was in absolute bits. It was the hardest thing to read, but it's also the most beautiful episode of EastEnders I've ever read."
