The 20-year-old has had five coaches in under two years now as she struggles continue after her US Open win.

Raducanu revealed that King Charles III gave her some 'banter' about the situation when she picked up her recent MBE.

In an interview with The Times, she said: “He asked me, ‘So, have you found a coach?’ I was like, ‘That’s good banter!’ It was so funny, I was laughing because everyone was ripping me for not having a coach. I was like, ‘The fact you know this, I feel honoured.’ ”

Raducanu's rise to one of the most recognisable and marketable athletes on the planet has been meteoric.

Her US Open win in 2021 has seen her become the third highest paid female athlete in the world behind only Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka.

However, life has not been easy on the court as she has struggled with injury.

Her latest setback has virtually ended her 2023 season after having surgery on both wrists and ankle.

"Since then I’ve had a lot of setbacks, one after the other. I am resilient, my tolerance is high, but it’s not easy.

"And sometimes I think to myself I wish I’d never won the US Open, I wish that didn’t happen,’’ she says. “Then I am like, remember that feeling, remember that promise, because it was completely pure.”
