Reece James has been plagued by injuries this season, causing him to miss out on the national team squad for Euro 2024.
Due to these injuries, James played just 30 minutes for Chelsea in 2024 and was left out of Gareth Southgate's plans for the summer tournament.
He was handed a four-match suspension following a red card incident during a recent Premier League clash against Brighton.
James was fouled by Joao Pedro and then saw red as he lashed out, kicking the Brazilian as he ran past.
According to the Daily Mail, the club claimed James was disorientated after being fouled by Pedro.
Chelsea added: "It had not been his intention to harm Mr Pedro, he was simply pushing him away with his foot."
Having missed their final game of the season against Bournemouth last month, James is also suspended for the first three matches of the upcoming campaign.
His team tried to cancel his suspension for the start of next season, but it was unsuccessful as the FA rejected their reasoning.

The Manchester City star was named England’s new vice-captain before the sporting event.
He takes over the role from Jordan Henderson, who was not included in the Euro 2024 squad.
Walker made his England debut in November 2011 and has gone on to make 83 appearances for the national side.
He is the second-most capped player in the squad, with Harry Kane leading the Three Lions with 91 caps.
The England boss said in June 2022 of Walker: “You notice players maturing,”
“For example, Kyle Walker who isn’t captain of his club but he’s such a man within the group, on the pitch, off the pitch, and I think he’s matured a lot over the last two or three years.
“I mean, he’s won the league four times so he’s got confidence from what he’s done as a player.
“He’s been in a World Cup semi-final with us and a European final so he’s got a lot of big-match experience.
"But he’s definitely one who I think has matured.
“He doesn’t have to be really vocal but (it’s about) his manner, his determination in the way he works.”
