Lazio beat Ajax 3-1 in Amsterdam on
Thursday to remain top of the UEFA Europa League standings
thanks to goals by Loum Tchaouna, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and
veteran Spanish winger Pedro.
The Rome side have 16 points from six games and are ahead of
second-placed Athletic Bilbao on goal difference.
Thursday's win also ensured that Lazio will qualify for the
knock-out stage of the competition and, with two games to go, it
puts them in a strong position to finish in the top eight and go
through directly to the last 16.
Roma, meanwhile, continued their good form under new coach
Claudio Ranieri, thumping Braga 3-0 at home.
They are 14th in the table with nine points.
In the Conference League Fiorentina, the defeated finalists for
the last two seasons, thrashed Austria's LASK Linz 7-0 to book
their ticket for the knockout stages.
