Finn Azaz couldn't contain his excitement after making his Republic of Ireland debut on Tuesday night.

The attacking midfielder came on for the Boys in Green late in the friendly clash with Switzerland and almost made an immediate impact.

He twice had opportunities to cap a dream debut with a goal, but just took too much out of the ball on both occasions.

However, Azaz was clearly delighted over making his senior debut as he spoke to Virgin Media after the game.

Here's what you need to know about him:

Azaz was born on September 7, 2000, making him 23 years old.

He currently plays for Middlesbrough in the Championship, having come through West Brom's youth system before joining Aston Villa.

He joined Middlesbrough in this January's transfer window.

The 23-year-old was born in Westminster in London, with his family moving to Birmingham when he was 15 months old.

Azaz was part of the Cheltenham Town squad to win League 2 in 2021, while he won League 1 with Plymouth Argyle 12 months later.
