Gary Barlow's son Daniel recently became an internet sensation for his towering height over his Take That star father, leaving fans in disbelief. Despite usually maintaining a private personal life, Gary deviated from the norm to share a delightful family update, posting a picture of himself with his wife Dawn Andrews and two of their children.
The couple are parents to Daniel, Emily, Daisy, and sadly, Poppy who was stillborn in 2012. However, it was 24 year old Daniel who stole the show as he stood tall above his dad, casually resting his arm on Gary's shoulder.
Dressed in grey board shorts and a white striped polo shirt, Daniel's impressive height was on full display. But things aren't quite as they appear - Daniel isn't exceptionally tall, standing at 6"2 compared to Gary's 5"7, reports The Express.
The average male height in the UK is 5"9, making Gary slightly below average. In a recent chat with The Mirror, Gary revealed that he doesn't anticipate his children following his musical path. He shared: "The two oldest ones [Daniel and Emily] have kind of gone into medicine and physiology – studying strength and conditioning – and my youngest one, Daisy, I'm not too sure what she's heading for but again, she's very studious... unlike me and my wife. " He further added: "I don't think they will follow in my music footsteps but I wouldn't have discouraged them though if they did want to, it's been a good business for me.
In a 2019 interview with the Belfast Telegraph, Gary shared: "I always feel they're growing up too fast - it's weird. It's all going to sound like someone's said it a million times as parents, but it feels like a race."
He continued: "They're doing this and they're doing that, and all of a sudden you turn around and they've grown up. " Reflecting on his parenting, Gary admitted: "I have good days and bad days.
"Some days I'm a terrible parent, other days I'm good. But I owe it all - their upbringing - to my wife because I've been on tour for most it, travelling around and making records, and she's been the one who's gone to all the parent evenings and done all the stuff, so it's all because of her."
