10.20am: With 31pc of the boxes opened and tallied the early news is that Gerry Huth is polling well. The health warning with this, however, is that the boxes tallied are in the areas of the north inner city where he is based.
So far Mary Lou McDonald (SF), Gary Gannon (SD), Paschal Donohoe (FF) and Gerard Hutch (Ind) are the front runners.
Hutch’s involvement in the election is worrying candidates like Malachy Steenson (Ind) and Clare Daly (I4C).
The Green Party’s Neasa Hourigan is down the list so far, and Mary Fitzpatrick (FF) doesn’t seem to be featuring in the running.
