Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch is considering running as an independent candidate in Dublin’s north inner city in the upcoming election.

The 61-year old veteran criminal, who was acquitted last year of the murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel in February 2016, is giving careful consideration to putting himself forward as a candidate in Dublin Central.
