Gigi Hadid Borrowed Taylor Swift's Signature Eras Tour Pose During ...
Easter eggs and hidden references are a key part of Taylor Swift's brand at this point, and her friends are taking notes.
Just ask OG squad member Gigi Hadid, who snuck a sweet homage to Swift into her opening walk for the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show with a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment inspired by her best friend.
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show — especially this year — is basically a mini-concert in itself. Tuesday night's runway was filled with models pacing in the brand's iconic oversized angel wings and their latest lingerie, and sprinkled with performances by Cher, Tyla, and LISA. Hadid was the model who opened the show in a downright cinematic fashion, emerging from beneath the stage on a riser — just as Taylor Swift does in the Eras Tour.
“There is something on the runway tonight that is new — for at least me, I can’t remember if it’s ever been done on the VS runway. But there’s an aspect to it that I was trained to do by Taylor on her tour," Gigi Hadid told Entertainment Tonight before the show. "At one of her rehearsals, she was like, ‘I’m going to show you how we do this,’ did that, and now I’m using it tonight.”
But that wasn't the only Swift reference during the evening! After rising up from the floor, Hadid paused and lifted her arm for a cute, flirty wave, similar to the one Swift often does during the Eras Tour. (You can see video comparison here.) While it wasn't an exact replica of Swift's wave, the shared DNA was definitely there.

We have to imagine that when Swift was teaching Hadid how to use the below-riser system and make it look smooth and effortless, she also tossed in a few waving lessons for good measure; after all, Swift does know how to enchant an enormous crowd, seeing as she's been on tour for well over a year. It's so fun to learn from your friends, isn't it?
