Blake Lively coordinated her outfit with someone at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere—but it wasn’t her husband and the film’s star, Ryan Reynolds. Instead, Lively teamed up with her close friend Gigi Hadid to pay homage to Reynolds’ and Hugh Jackman’s titular characters with their looks at the premiere and after-party. Lively represented Reynolds’ character Deadpool, wearing a red Atelier Versace catsuit on the carpet. She later switched into a flower-adorned Balmain minidress for the after-party.

Hadid, meanwhile, channeled Jackman’s character, Wolverine, in all-yellow ensembles. For the premiere, she wore a Miu Miu bandana top and low-rise skirt. At the after-party, she switched into a translucent belted trench by LaQuan Smith.

Lively and Hadid spoke to Entertainment Tonight together on the red carpet about their friendship and how Reynolds crashes their girls’ nights. “He’s such a hen,” Lively said. “He can hang with men, but he’s really a hen at heart.”

Hadid added, “He loves a girls’ night and to hear all the goss.”

Hadid and Lively have kept their friendship largely private, but they opened up a bit about how deep their connection goes during Lively’s birthday last August.

Hadid had shared a birthday tribute to Lively on her Instagram Story. She wrote, “Pretty sure this pic is before her (our) baby number 1 but I just love it [because] I still feel like the baby of the group. Lots-o-angel babies later, u are a magical friend and mamma—protective, warm, witty, thoughtful, talented, HOT! Ur made of all the good stuff like rainbow sprinkles and butter and bourbon whipped creme. And lobster salad. Lots of lobster salad. Thank you for your light and example sister. Wishing you the best year yet. U know ily!”

Lively reposted it to her own account and added, “This was before baby #3 for me and 1 for you. Co-parenting with you, whether you agree to raise my children or not, is one of my life’s greatest joys. Love you mama, sister, friend.”
