MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) - Despite Mother Nature playing some pretty horrible tricks on the Suncoast lately, Manatee County officials are moving forward with its annual Halloween event.

The 22nd annual Goblin Gathering will be held in the wooded area of G.T. Bray Park Oct. 25, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event was scheduled for earlier in the month, but Hurricane Milton forced its cancellation.

Local businesses and community partners will be passing out “treats & sweets” to participants, providing a safe alternative for families to trick-or-treat.

Fortunately, grounds crews were able to clear the debris, and organizers have brought back the bounce houses, face painting, petting zoo, magician, and plenty of free candy for the rescheduled event.

The costume contest sign-up begins after 5 p.m. with judging beginning at 7 p.m. Costume Contest Categories include:
