The 61-year-old is best known for his eight-time award winning comedy chat show, The Graham Norton Show, which he has hosted since 2007.
Graham also previously presented his show called So Graham Norton, which aired on Channel 4 from 3 July 1998 to 1 March 2002.
The former radio star reminisced on the early days of the programme and revealed how difficult it was to get celebrity guests on.
He explained: "I'd forgotten how out there the Channel 4 show was. It was so rude.
"It's hard to get guests on a new chat show anyway. But we were visiting dodgy websites, we were calling sex workers. So, who the hell was going to come on this show?
"But we still asked everybody."
The popular host explained how they asked Daniel O'Donnell to come on in season two and was surprised when he agreed to.
Graham said: "Here's the thing, he said yes. I was delighted. And I just thought, 'Well, Daniel O'Donnell must have a really good sense of humour, that's great that he's coming on the show'.
"So we put out all the papers, 'Daniel O'Donnell's coming on So Graham Norton on Friday, da-da-da'.
"And that was all fine, except that the Friday before he was supposed to come on, either Daniel or someone from 'Team Daniel' actually watched the show. And suddenly, Daniel, very busy. That grass needs cutting."
Late Late Show reveals this weeks line up
Graham took the rejection on the chin but it was "too late" to take the announcement out of the papers so his fans still thought he was going to be on the chat show.
The comedian then revealed that they had an unusual guest on that was worlds apart from Daniel.
He explained: "And we had, and forgive me, it was a long time ago, it was a different world. We did an item where we did a web call to a woman in Paris called Madame Pee-Pee.
"And you can imagine yourself, there was a brandy glass involved. Don't Google it, please don't Google it.
"So anyway, we did it, and that was fine, good fun. And back then, if you didn't enjoy a show, you couldn't just tweet the host or anything. You had to do special phone numbers, you had to call the station. Called the duty log.
'DEAR GOD'"And on the Monday, we would get the list of phone calls that had come in to the station."
Graham explained how outraged the Donegal crooner's fans were when they tuned in for him and instead got Madam Pee-Pee.
He said: "We got the list, and if there was a Venn diagram of Madame Pee-Pee fans, and Daniel O'Donnell fans, I would say no crossover at all, really.
"My favourite one of the duty log, was a woman who called in, and all she said was, 'Dear God, I'm supposed to be taping this for the nuns'.
"I hope they saw it."
RTE viewers all loved Graham's interview and raced to X to share their compliments.
Debbie said: "You've got to love Graham Norton. Always a great guest."
Another fan tweeted: "This Late Late lineup should have been just recorded for the Christmas or NYE eps, it's that good."
Abbey wrote: "Back when TV was good. I'm sure he has many great BTS stories."
