The cherished series of books, originally written by J. K. Rowling, were transformed into a highly acclaimed series of films by Warner Bros studio.

This began with the first instalment released in 2001 and ended with a two-part adaptation of the final book released in 2010 and 2011.

The franchise catapulted its actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, who played Harry, Ron and Hermione respectively, to stardom, reports the Mirror.

It even sparked a stage show, a theme park and spin-off films that further explored its magical universe.

Fans can revisit the entire saga from beginning to end this weekend as ITV2 hosts a marathon of the Harry Potter films.

But don't fret, there will be some intervals scattered throughout the schedule.

The marathon begins on Saturday afternoon (October 26) and resumes on Sunday (October 27).

However, fans should note that due to the length of later films, the marathon extends into the week but should keep you entertained until Halloween.
