More details have surfaced on this summer’s rumoured LEGO Harry Potter wave, including minifigure line-ups for seven sets – and the first word on the 2024 advent calendar.

Initial reports from 1414falconfan (via brick_clicker) in January pointed to another varied wave of Wizarding World sets in summer 2024, from buildable characters and animals to new additions to the modular Diagon Alley and Hogwarts ranges – along with a long-overdue remake of the Durmstrang ship. Polish LEGO fan site Fanklockow has now shared more details on what to expect from the rest of this year’s LEGO Harry Potter line-up.

You can dive into all the new info below, but remember that it is still only rumoured at this stage, so take it with the customary grain of salt until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group. For something a little more concrete, check out this year’s first wave of Wizarding World sets, which has just arrived on shelves.

76427 Buckbeak

Price: $59.99 Pieces: 723 Release date: June 2024

76427 Buckbeak will apparently leave behind the flapping-wings template of 75979 Hedwig, 76394 Fawkes, Dumbledore’s Phoenix and 76406 Hungarian Horntail Dragon, but will still pack in plenty of articulation for the buildable creature, with a moving head, wings and legs. The 723-piece build is said to come with a small piece of terrain with two pumpkins and a bird.

76431 Hogwarts: Potions Class

Price: $37.99 Pieces: 397 Release date: June 2024

As expected, 76431 Hogwarts Castle: Potions Class is rumoured to be part of the new modular magical school that kicks off this month with 76426 Hogwarts Castle Boathouse and 76430 Hogwarts Castle Owlery. It’s thought to include Severus Snape, Hermione Granger, Seamus Finnigan and Pansy Parkinson, two of the new collectible portrait tiles, and new elements to represent beakers and steam. The room will apparently match the size of one of the rooms in 76435 Hogwarts: Great Hall.

76433 Mandrake

Price: $59.99 Pieces: 579 Release date: June 2024

Another buildable creature from the Wizarding World, 76433 Mandrake will apparently be a life-sized model of the potted plant, complete with a moving mouth and limbs to simulate its crowd-pleasing screams. The LEGO Harry Potter team is said to have wisely sidestepped the opportunity to include a sound brick, though. Phew.

76434 Aragog: Forbidden Forest

Price: $14.99 Pieces: 195 Release date: June 2024

Arachnophobes, look away now: 76434 Aragog in the Forbidden Forest is rumoured to be the ‘largest and most realistic Aragog ever’, complete with articulated legs, fangs and pincers. The 195-piece set is said to include Harry Potter and Ron Weasley minifigures, along with a small Forbidden Forest scene with two small spiders and a web. It can apparently connect to March’s 76432 Forbidden Forest: Magical Creatures, so a dark blue colour scheme feels likely.

76435 Hogwarts: Great Hall

Price: $219.99 Pieces: 1,732 Release date: June 2024

The biggest addition to the new modular Hogwarts school so far, 76435 Hogwarts: Great Hall is also shaping up to be the single biggest minifigure-scale Hogwarts set since the LEGO Harry Potter theme returned in 2018. It sounds like it will include way more than just the Great Hall itself, too, with a bathroom, corridor and the Hufflepuff common room also said to be in the box, along with a courtyard, a dungeon with a secret passage, and a facsimile of the sky on the roof of the Great Hall.

If mention of a bathroom stands out there, it’s with good reason: this set is also now rumoured to include a cave troll bigfig – the first since 2002’s 4712 Troll on the Loose – along with Professor Quirrell, Albus Dumbledore, Harry, Ron, Hermione, three students, a ghost and Aurora Sinistra. Expect it to be able to connect directly to 76426 Hogwarts Castle Boathouse.

76438 Harry Potter Advent Calendar

Price: TBC Pieces: TBC Release date: September 2024

This year’s LEGO Harry Potter advent calendar is rumoured to include a series of buildable models that are compatible with 76435 Hogwarts: Great Hall, such as a Christmas tree and gifts. It’s also said to come with two collectible portrait tiles, mini-models of the Hogwarts Express ‘and much more’, along with seven characters: Harry Potter, Susan Bones, Draco Malfoy, Albus Dumbledore, Professor Flitwick, an unidentified ghost and Hedwig.

Given the focus on the Philosopher’s Stone, Nearly-Headless Nick feels like a safe bet for the ghost.

76439 Ollivanders & Madam Malkin’s

Price: $99.99 Pieces: 744 Release date: June 2024

The smaller version of 75978 Diagon Alley – which began with 76422 Diagon Alley: Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes in 2023 – is said to continue this summer with 76439 Ollivanders and Madam Malkin’s. The former shop is rumoured to include as many as 26 wands, a removable box on the shelves that contains Harry’s wand, wand stands and a ladder, while the latter is thought to include mannequins, hats and cloaks.

Six minifigures are reported to be in the box: Harry Potter, Garrick Ollivander, Madam Malkin, Padma Patil, a ‘wizard’s apprentice’ and a mystery witch with a ‘flower mound’. (Thank Google Translate for that one.)

76440 Durmstrang Ship & Beauxbatons Carriage

Price: $139.99 Pieces: 1,299 Release date: June 2024

76440 Durmstrang Ship and Beauxbatons Carriage is still said to be on the way in summer 2024, bringing us a long-awaited remake of 2005’s 4768 The Durmstrang Ship. Its split focus means that neither of the vehicles will be especially large despite the set including 1,299 pieces: the carriage is rumoured to be small enough to only require one flying horse to pull it, though the ship will reportedly still include four sails (one of which is printed).

The minifigure line-up here is said to feature Igor Karkaroff, Viktor Krum, Madame Maxime, Fleur Delacour and Cornelius Fudge. According to Fanklockow, this set will also be a retailer exclusive, though whether that’s only in Poland or worldwide remains to be seen. It will still be available through LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores either way.

Chris Wharfe I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
