The BJP secured a historic third consecutive term in Haryana following its exit poll-defying 48-seat victory in the state Assembly polls.
Meanwhile, the National Conference (NC)-Congress alliance in Jammu and Kashmir also secured an absolute majority by winning 48 out of a total 90 assembly seats in the union territory.

As per the results announced on Tuesday evening, the BJP secured its best-ever haul of 48 seats in Haryana, one more than its 2014 tally. While Congress won 37 seats, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won two and Independent candidates secured three seats.
In Jammu and Kashmir, where the Assembly polls were held for the first time in a decade, the NC-Congress won 48 seats combined, while the BJP secured 29 seats. Mehbooba Mufti's Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured three seats and the AAP also managed to open its tally with one seat.
