A weekend of 'after you' stumbles in the title race as Celtic couldn't punish Rangers for their slip up on Saturday.
A Sunday lunchtime showdown in the capital saw Brendan Rodgers' side stuck in second come full-time as Hearts put their drubbing at Ibrox and disappointing derby draw behind them with a 2-0 win.
It could have been so different had Adam Idah converted a first half spot kick. Alex Cochrane didn;t see Yang behind him and stepped across the Korean, which was just enough for Don Robertson to award the pen.
Idah tried to go down the middle, but Zander Clark called his bluff and saved with his legs.
90 seconds later, Celtic were down to ten men. Yang's high boot caught Cochrane in the face and after thinking he'd gotten away with a yellow, the winger was dismissed after Robertson took another look on the VAR monitor.
He was back in front of the screen to check a handball by Iwata in the box, and saw enough to point to the spot at the other end, allowing Jorge Grant to put the hosts ahead.
Shankland had the ball in the net again soon after, but the most marginal offside denied the skipper.
he made up for it after the break though, firing low past Hart to put the game beyond Celtic. They tried, but Steven Naismith's side managed the game perfectly from then on, and will perhaps be a bit unhappy that they didn't add to their tally.
