'I've been taken out' – Referee hits the deck as Ireland run in fifth try ...
Referee Hollie Davidson was "taken out" as Ireland scored a fifth try during their win against Fiji after she was felled by Mesake Vocevoce.
Player of the Match Bundee Aki got on the scoresheet for the first of his two tries in the wake of the incident, but had to wait for the try to be confirmed after grounding the ball.
The hosts went on to go over thrice more in a devastating 52-17 victory at the Aviva Stadium, the penultimate encounter of their Autumn Nations Series campaign.
Davidson was knocked to the ground when 6"6' lock Vocevoce inadvertently stepped back onto the 32-year-old at a breakdown.
"Hollie Davidson needs to check it because she has been taken out!" TNT Sports pundit Ben Kay said on commentary. "She did very well to get back to her feet. As she said, 'I faceplanted and didn't actually see that final pass,"
"Okay, Mike [Adamson on TMO], I've been taken out," said Davidson with a smile. "So I've just missed what's happened behind me.
"I have a grounding so my on-field decision is try. We just need to make sure that there is no obstruction prior to the try being scored."
Former England international Kay joked that the referee might have inhibited the Fijian defence.
"I think it's Hollie Davidson that provides the obstruction. Really good decoy line from the ref," joked Kay.
"She rode that well, did Hollie," added commentator Claire Thomas, after Aki's try was given the green light.
Aki started off the move with a driving carry, before the move was kept alive close to touch and quick hands put the centre in to score.
"All the tricks coming out of the Irish box! And there we were talking about Fijian flair. Ireland have razzmatazz of their own," gushed Thomas on commentary as Aki went over.
