Holly Willoughby "gave away a hint of tension" with Phillip Schofield today, amid rumours of a 'cooling friendship' between the pair.
Body language expert Judi James has revealed exclusively to The Mirror that as the pair opened This Morning today, Holly was "in adult mode" throughout the start of the show, whilst Phil seemed to be much more "defiant and dismissive" of the recent rumours.
Sources have claimed the pair are "separate entities" now and their relationship has "cooled" outside of the show.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror about the body language signals the pair were giving off, Judi shared: "Phil and Holly’s body language lacked synchronicity this morning and the differences did seem like a non-verbal response to the fresh rumours of a rift.
"Phil hit the ground running and his displays looked very much like a message of defiance and dismissal. He was in party mood from the start, pulling faces as he swung his arms to Lulu’s Eurovision song."
She added: "Holly joined in with less enthusiasm, like the grown-up at the party."
Judi also revealed there was huge differences between the pair, with Holly in "adult mode" as she "hinted at tension".
"There was some biting of his lower lip and tensing of the top one to hint at strong inner emotions," she revealed.
"But then came an almost pantomime, overkill laugh with his head thrown right back and his mouth fully open during the Gok Wan trailer that looked intended to make him appear carefree and playful. Holly spoke and sat in adult mode, with some finger-fiddling and some barrier rituals hinting at tension, although she twice snapped back to comments of Phil's."
Insiders recently claimed the pair are much more "separate" than they used to be.
A source told The Sun of the pair's friendship: "Holly adores This Morning and for the first time in 14 years she has made it clear that should Phil ever leave she would want to stay. They are separate entities.
"To those around them on set, it has become clear recently that Holly and Phil are not as close as they once were. Professionally you would have no idea there was anything going on because on camera they are acting exactly the same."
The insider added: "But behind the scenes, their relationship has cooled."
