Honda criticized England for dropping cars with ICE

The head of Honda commented on the fact that Great Britain government is aiming to drop cars with internal combustion engine as soon as possible.

The head of Honda commented on the fact that Great Britain government is aiming to drop cars with internal combustion engine as soon as possible. He pointed out that electric cars should not be seen by government as the only option to improve environment conditions.  After all, if electric cars are the only option on the market, customers will lose their right to choose.

Honda’s experts believe that the emission reduction could be achieved through introducing more electric cars into the market step by step, also by producing more hybrids as well as vehicles that run on synthetic fuel. Although it’s too early to speak about dropping cars with ICE fully. The manufacturer is planning to achieve production of carbon-neutral cars in just 30 years. In order to achieve carbon-neutral production, the company decided to leave “Formula – 1”, so they could use the resources to develop the needed technology.

Worth noting, that United Kingdom has been developing the project to drop cars with ICE for a few years now. According to data, the country will ban selling cars that use petrol of diesel engines within the next 15 years. Honda believes this will make electric cars a privilege for the upper class, because people with average income won’t be able to afford them.

Car manufacturers are not the only ones who disagree with England’s official plan, SMMT is also backing them up. Members of Motor Society believe that in order for country market to have only electric cars, the whole industry must undergo a full transformation. And this requires huge investments.
